Sport and event and conference photographers in Edinburgh

For our blog today I am going to look at the varied life of event photographers, as this is a busy time for event and event and conference photographers in Edinburgh, particularly indoor conferences on the lead up to Christmas.  I have had a pretty busy week as an event photographer in Scotland.  Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a rugby match at Linlithgow RFC for their game against Haddington.  Although I am more of a football fan, I enjoy watching rugby and it is probably my favourite sport to photograph, as you can almost see the whites of the eyes of the participants and the game concentrates on one area of the park for a period of time.  It is easier to position yourself for the right moments.  Football can be more challenging due to the pace of the game and it can change from one end of the pitch to the next in seconds.  There are some other examples of rugby photos on my other site at Colin Wright Photography, Edinburgh and Glasgow corporate and event photographer | Sport.  I also have some sports photos on this site on my blog, particularly this recent one about the changing seasons for event photographers in Edinburgh. Visit to Milngavie and Bearsden and Camera club

On friday I had the pleasure of judging a competition at Bearsden and Milngavie Camera Club after being asked by my good friend Colin Waudby Colin-Waudby – Milngavie and Bearsden Camera Club – Established 1970 (mbcc.org.uk).  The standard was very high and it was exceptionally difficult choosing a winner.  For more details of the competition and the club in general, please take a look at their website.  They were a great bunch and we had the opportunity to chat about photography in general, including the thorny subject or AI.
