Landscape and Urban Photography Scotland conjures up ideas of rolling hills and mountains. Yes Scotland does have wonderful scenery, but it also has amazing cities and towns. I have spent a lot of my time photographing this amazing country. I have showcased a few of the images on this page. Further landscape photos can be found on my infrared photography page on this site at Black and White Infrared Photography in Scotland, UK – Colin Wright Photography (edinburghphotographer.com). My sister website at Colin Wright Photography, Edinburgh and Glasgow corporate and event photographer | Infrared Image also contains a variety of infrared and urban photography from around Scotland.
Where are my favourite cities in Scotland. Well its a bit complicated, as a landscape and infrared photographer in Scotland, I particularly enjoy photographing Glasgow then Dundee. However, my favourite city is my hometown of Edinburgh and this is also my preferred destination to work as an event and conference photographer in Scotland. Why do I like Glasgow and Dundee. Well I love the lively vibrant, busy atmosphere in Glasgow. The variety of architecture is ideal for urban photographers in Scotland. The lights along the Clyde and the varied landscape. I love Dundee, as it is a great coastal city, with wonderful landmarks, such as the V and A Plan a Visit (vam.ac.uk). The bridges add drama and like Glasgow, water also adds interest to the photos. I have also travelled to Europe to extend my urban photography portfolio. This is particularly true with regard to Germany and a number of urban photos from Cologne and Karsruhe will be added to this section soon. So watch this space.
