Keeping Fine Art Photography Active During Lockdown

Hi Everyone

So how do professional photographers in Scotland keep creative during this very difficult time.  As an event photographer operating in Edinburgh and around Scotland, I have had to put a halt on my photographic commissions for the meantime, although I had some work in the summer.  Add to the fact that I have had Covid 19 to the equation and it should be really difficult to motivate myself.  You would think so but to be honest, sometimes in the darkest of times art can flourish.  I have been out and about, when the weather permits, certainly not just now mind you due too the awful weather, taking infrared and landscape photos around Dunbar.  I have already mentioned how concentrating on one or two local subjects can focus your mind and encourages experimentation.  Dark thoughts can often produce art and I also find storms to be a good source for my photography during difficult times.  So hope you enjoy the photo. It was taken at what has been one of the most difficult times for me.  So keep on creating.

In addition, Colin is a specialist infrared photographer, supplying hotels and businesses with bespoke fine art images from around Scotland. In addition to professional event photography in Edinburgh, Colin also participates in a number of infrared photography forums throughout the world and he is in the process of developing a long term project entitled "Infrared Photography in Scotland."
