The winter conference photography season in Edinburgh and around Scotland has started full swing, with an enjoyable 3 day event I attended for Intercontinental Hotel Group in the Capital. One of the things I notice about conferences these days, is that they are starting to involve multiple events, which can make things more interesting for the professional photographer. This often involves speakers, portrait shoots, award ceremonies, large dinners and visit to tourist locations. In many ways being a professional conference photographer in Edinburgh can be a lot like a wedding photographer. there is a need to be multi-skilled, you also have to think on your feet and you will be required to capture key moments, with very little preparation time. technology has also put more demands on the corporate photographer, with often instant demands to reproduce photos, via wifi or email. So you have been warned preparation is everything.
