Hints and Tips for Event Photographers
One of the great things about photographing events is you can build up your portfolio without professional commissions. There is plenty going on around Scotland just now to enable all budding photographers to get out and about, whether it is sport or festivals, music concerts or gala days, there is always something. Unlike studio photographers or other specialisms, all you need is your gear and enthusiasm. I was then approached by companies and individuals for commissions, I then got myself qualified and went full time. This was largely how I became a professional corporate and event photographer operating around Edinburgh and the UK. I appreciate things are probably a bit more competitive now and there is less scope for newspaper photography work but it is still there if you are determined enough. . So, good luck, just get out there and take photographs.
